Die Pflanzstelle plant zusammen mit dem VISION e.V. und mit einer Beteiligung von Künstlern unter anderem auch von crossart international eine Kunstaustellung auf dem Gelände in Kalk in der Neuerburgstraße durchzuführen.
Eröffnung ist das GartenFest am 29.09.13

Was ist die Pflanzstelle?
Die Pflanzstelle ist ein mobiler, interkultureller und öffentlicher Gemeinschaftsgarten in der Stadt. Auf einer Brachfläche in Köln-Kalk bauen wir gemeinsam mit Freiwilligen und Interessierten Gemüse an. Die Beete bestehen aus transportablen Pflanzmodulen. So ist der Garten unabhängig vom Boden und wir können auch auf versiegelten oder belasteten Flächen anbauen. Läuft der Mietvertrag aus, ziehen wir einfach um – auf das oberste Deck eines Parkhauses, in eine Industriehalle oder eine der vielen weiteren Brachflächen im Stadtgebiet.
Der Garten ist öffentlich zugänglich und verfolgt ein anderes Konzept als die Schrebergärten. Diese Form des Gartens schafft eine offene Begegnungsstätte, die zum gemeinsamen Gärtnern, Zeit verbringen, Austausch, Lernen und Essen einlädt. Durch Gartenbauaktionen, eine “Gartensprechstunde” sowie Bildungs- und Kulturangebote beziehen wir die unterschiedlichen Menschen über gesellschaftliche Grenzen hinweg aktiv in den Garten ein. So können Familien ihren Kindern die Natur näher bringen ohne weit raus zu müssen. Senioren und Rollstuhlfahrer haben es durch die Hochbeete leichter. Und Gärtner_innen ohne eigenen Garten können hier kostenlos ihrem Hobby nachgehen. Ökologisches Bewusstsein und Wissen werden im Garten fast beiläufig vermittelt und eine gemeinschaftliche Verbindung zwischen Menschen und urbaner Umwelt geschaffen. Der Garten bietet den Ort dieses direkt und konkret im Kleinen auszuprobieren.
Wir stemmen die Investitionskosten durch Fördermittel. In einem ebenfalls mobilen Gartencafé wollen wir später Erfrischungen, kleine Snacks und frisch zubereitete Speisen anbieten. Spenden jeglicher Art – von Geld über Sachspenden wie Muttererde oder eben die Beteiligung an der Arbeit – sind sehr willkommen und können auch steuerlich abgesetzt werden (wir sind als gemeinnützig anerkannt).
